I moved to Sydney from New York City when I was only aged 20 looking for a fresh start after a difficult childhood and to experience life in another part of the world.

I was able to obtain my college qualifications in: social science, counselling and communication, which I would not have been able to afford in America. I have been working with people in crisis, and people with disabilities and have been able to give back to the community in this way.

I have taken up yoga and meditation and find that these practices allowed me to slow down my thinking and be less reactive so as to make better decisions. It certainly helps to do things that nurture your body and mind so you can fully enjoy life, stay healthy and be present, which is really about being truly alive.
