Hitting the Open Road

Author: John (61)

Like most people, I spent a lot of time at work thinking about retirement. But I’m glad I actually did something about it.

I didn’t realise just how important it was to have a plan until the moment arrived. Getting my finances in order was just one piece of the puzzle. Having a plan meant I could actually enjoy the moment when it arrived. My wife and I spent plenty of time mapping out what we wanted to do and exactly when we wanted to do it.

We left on our dream trip in the van around Australia the very next morning after I left the office for the final time!
